• Hey!

Today, after of short recap of last time lesson, you studied how to write a formal or an informal letter:

Then, you trained for the oral comprehension exam with the video document below (-->0'59)

Here is what you said about it:

This video is a parody of a TV show about AK-47 assault rifles.
They sell 10000 rifles; you can pay with hard cash, diamonds or through off-shore accounts. If you purchase one of them and if you call in less than an hour, you get free bullets / ammunition.
This rifle was used in 75 wears. This parody is humorous and ironical.

  • Hey!

Today, our expert, Bastien, spoke about gun regulations in the US.

Then, you watch a video document: What about gun regulations in this state? Are they strict enough?.

Here is what you said about it:

    • Michigan is a shall-issue state because he has to do a background check / to take a test / to fill in a form: they ask if he is involved in crimes / if he has a criminal reccord, if he is mentally normal, and if he is Caucasian.
    • The regulations are not strict enough/ efficient, because you just have to open an account to get a free gun. They encourage American people to carry a gun: it's too easy to get a gun. In addition, you can lie on the form.

  • Hey!

After a short recap, you finished the analysis of the cartoon:

Children are used to guns because in the USA, gun bearing is part of their culture and history.

    Written by Jeanne.

Then, you focused on regulations concerning gun bearing in the US.

    Here is what you said:

In may-issue states, you can bear a gun if you have a permit/license and a good reason (for hunting...). The permit is given by the police.
In shall-issue states : You don't need a good reason to bear a gun but you need a permit. There are many conditions : minimum age, fingerprints, a training... Moreover, the police check if you're not a criminal (background check).
In no-issue states : People are forbidden to carry a gun.
-> Guns are allowed in all states.

  • Hey!

First of all, I presented the different exams for the bac (oral and written). Here is the slideshow to recap what we've said:

Then, you started studying the first document of the unit:

    Here is what you said:

A child is putting his hand up/ is raising his hand because the teacher is asking a question : "What do the letters USA mean?". However, the child is answering "unlimited semi-automatics" which means that there are no laws to limit / restrict guns in the USA. Indeed/ As a result, anyone can bear /carry a gun.
